OS:

NixOS 26.05 (Yarara) with MATE as my desktop environment. managed declaratively with home-manager, lix, and flake-parts because i like it :D

terminal & shell:

ghostty terminal with a custom wallpaper setup.

zsh with the pure prompt - clean, minimal, just how I like it.

aliases for days: eza instead of ls, bat instead of cat, fd instead of find, rg instead of grep, btop instead of top, and z (zoxide) instead of cd.

editor:

nixvim for most of my coding - a fully declarative neovim setup with LSP, treesitter, telescope, and all the good stuff.

VSCodium for web dev and anything that benefits from a GUI.

browser:

Brave Browser - it just works

music:

lollypop for local music playback.

nicotine+ for... acquiring music. you know how it is.

communication:

Legcord over discord because vanilla and lacks basic features.

notes & organization:

Logseq for journaling and note-taking. markdown-based, local-first, exactly what I need.

file management:

caja - mate's file manager for mainly everything

dolphin - kde's file manager because it has an extract option on right click

version control:

git.gay over GitLab over GitHub. I use git.gay for hosting my repos because the domain is incredible.

gaming

mostly steam: proton experimental for Windows games and Steam Linux Runtime 3.0 for linux games

Prism Launcher for minecart because its the best launcher and you cannot change my mind

Sober for roblox because theyre too lazy to make a penguin port

dotfiles

desk situation

just a laptop on a desk. no fancy monitor, no mechanical keyboard with artisan keycaps, no RGB lighting. function over form.

sometimes I move to my bed. portability is underrated.
