software

wm
dwm. no DE, just raw dwm. it just sucks less.
terminal & shell
st terminal, mksh shell. i have a history of shells: rc, bash, zsh, fish, etc etc etc.
aliases for days: eza instead of ls, bat instead of cat, fd instead of find, rg instead of grep, btop instead of top, z (zoxide) instead of cd.
editor
doom emacs. i love it. config at git.sr.ht/~zelda/doom-emacs.
also have an unmaintained nvim config at git.gay/zeldareal/YAWN if you're into that.
browser
GNU IceCat. yes. that GNU IceCat. it just does what i need it to do.
music
lollypop for local playback. nicotine+ for... acquiring music. you know how it is.
communication
Vesktop over Discord because vanilla lacks basic features. disroot mail because please get google off of me.
notes & organization
Joplin for journaling and note-taking. markdown-based, local-first, exactly what i need.
file management
nemo for GUI, yazi in the terminal.
version control
sourcehut with git + magit, the git porcelain for emacs. git's UX is actively hostile and i hate it but magit exists.
github → gitlab → git.gay → here. quite the journey.
gaming
Steam with Proton Experimental for Windows games. Prism Launcher for Minecraft because it's the best launcher and you cannot change my mind. Sober for Roblox because they're too lazy to make a Linux port. for the actual games i like ULTRAKILL, Deep Rock Galactic, Stardew Valley, and a lot, lot more!
